What better way to kickstart your Saturday than with a detox smoothie bowl event at Whole Foods? A few weekends ago I trekked out of the city and up to Lynnfield, MA (totally worth it) to join a few fellow bloggers, the Whole Foods team, and the incredible Tori of Kitchen and Kraft. If you haven’t heard of Tori, you might have at least spotted one of her stunning smoothie bowl creations on Instagram. Her feed makes me want to devour a detox smoothie bowl for every meal and cut everything else out. Probably not sustainable, but you get it.
I always knew I liked and enjoyed smoothies – like this tropical kale smoothie. And I’m a big fan of açai bowls (a favorite when I’m in Brasil, of course), but this smoothie bowl brought it to a new level. We had tons of toppings to choose from, so I grabbed a little bit of (almost) each one. Those superfoods though. SO good! While I loved everything I tried, I did have a few favorites – see them below! Oh you know, after the photo of Tori creating the cutest strawberry rose.
Test it out for yourself! See if you become a detox smoothie bowl convert, too. Join the dark side…or the green side? Now, for your smoothie bowl base, add ingredients such as:
The great thing with these bowls is that you don’t have to stick to a specific recipe – switch it up and see what you like! I always add pineapple to my smoothies and smoothie bowls – I just love that tropical flavor.
And for toppings, go crazy! Here are a few of my favorites:
If you make one, do share! I’d love to check out what you come up with. Oh! And are you looking for more detox inspiration? I’ll be pinning my favorite detox recipes here.

Never had a smoothie bowl, but they always look so beautiful!
You should definitely give it a go! They’re so so tasty, and strangely quite filling when you’ve got the right toppings 🙂
