Planning your big day? Creating or selecting a signature wedding cocktail might easily be overlooked, but it’s a detail your guests will love! And it doesn’t have to be a tedious task. Make it fun! Choose spirits that you and your other half enjoy, with flavors that complement your styles and fit in with your wedding plans. For example, hosting your wedding over a lavish brunch? Create a custom mimosa or bellini! Or getting married in a breathtaking wooded area? Serve a custom campfire cocktail. The possibilities are endless – but I’m here to tell you it doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Oh and you know, give you a signature wedding cocktail idea – the Spiced Pineapple Tequila Cocktail.
You don’t have to go crazy coming up with some out of this world cocktail. In fact, you can stick to the basics. Are you a fan of margaritas? Then dream up your ideal margarita! Or if you love a good gin fizz, then serve those up with a special twist – perhaps a new herb garnish. It doesn’t have to be complicated, it’s all about what you enjoy.
With weddings becoming so digital (ahem, I don’t mean guests bringing point-and-shoots or using the phones during the ceremony) – I’m talking about wedding hashtags and custom geofilters – it’s all about the Insta. So create a garnish that’s not only Instagrammable or fun to feature in your wedding photos, but that guests will thoroughly enjoy. This can be anything from sparkly poms to fresh fruit, or a cinnamon sugar rim. Whatever you choose, make sure that you’ll love it, too!
Do you and your S.O. enjoy totally different cocktails? Go head to head and have two signature wedding cocktails! I’ve been to a wedding that did this and it was so fun! Name them after yourselves or anything else you’d like. It’s fun to see what people enjoy most – but it’s not a competition. Well, unless you want it to be a competition – in which case, you’ll probably win.
Looking for cocktail inspiration for your wedding? Here’s a special one for today – the spiced pineapple tequila cocktail, made with…cinnamon tequila! I have to say, it was the first time I’ve ever used or consumed cinnamon tequila and it did not disappoint. I used the Peligroso Cinnamon Tequila Liqueur with sweet pineapple and bam – the spiced pineapple tequila cocktail!

This seems like it would have been fun to do! We didn’t have any cocktails at my wedding, and reading this article makes me regret it. If I end up getting married again, I will make sure to have something like this. Hopefully I won’t have to, but making the vow just in case.
