Maybe you’ll call it lazy, but I think it’s freeing. I’ve started or….I suppose the better way to explain this is…I stopped wearing jewelry. One day I went to work without anything on – and by anything I mean no earrings, rings, etc. I realized when I was about halfway to my office and instantly felt naked. Totally naked. I had zero accessories on, zero jewelry – you get it. Then I did it again the next day, and the day after that. I started feeling so free! I had no bracelets clanking around, no earrings stabbing the back of my head when I was resting my phone on my shoulder and it felt GREAT. However, I realized what I was missing was a simple watch. I hate having to pull my phone out or look for a clock, especially during meetings or when grabbing cocktails with friends. Luckily, my friends at JORD have the perfect wrist watches for summer and I was able to scoop one up.
After wearing it for a few days, I realized it was my new favorite statement piece. And actually, a conversation starter. It’s a wood watch! It’s different and I’ve already had a few people ask me about it. It’s like an easy ice breaker – if someone wants to approach you, you’re giving them an in. It sounds strange, but it works! A woman I met recently at a BOS Lady Project event was wearing a super unique necklace and when I grabbed her attention to compliment it, she said that she wears it to every networking event because someone always asks about it. How brilliant, right?! Well, I think JORD might be this summer’s conversation starter, at least it is for me.
