Can you even believe it? Valentine’s/Galentine’s Day is almost here so here it is, a Winter
Citrus Bourbon cocktail recipe just in time for the ‘big’ day.
I love all the love that’s happening. Like I mentioned last week – Valentine’s Day isn’t necessarily my favorite, but the positivity (and this cocktail) are quickly changing my mind. You know there’s little I love more than a tasty cocktail to celebrate the weekend, so here’s a new Valentine’s Day sip to get you in that weekend mood.
Meet the Winter Citrus Bourbon – the citrus really cuts the bourbon in a delicious way. So much so, that this cocktail might even convince your bourbon-hating friends to change their tune. I know I have a few friends who don’t necessarily enjoy bourbon, yet I know this Winter Citrus Bourbon would be a winner.
Winter Citrus Bourbon Cocktail Recipe
The Winter Citrus Bourbon is….you guessed it….super citrusy, but the sweet cara cara orange and blood orange offset the tart grapefruit. Plus, add that honey and you’ve got yourself a delectably balanced cocktail.
2 ounces bourbon
1 cara cara orange, juiced
1 blood orange, juiced
1 grapefruit, juiced
6 sprigs of thyme
1 tablespoon honey
1. Combine bourbon, 4 sprigs of thyme, honey, and juice from the citrus in a tumbler.
2. Shake vigorously for 20 seconds.
3. Pour in a glass and fill with ice.
4. Top with a slice of blood orange and a sprig of thyme.
*Makes 2 cocktails
