I’ve been seeing these 30 before 30 lists circling the web and blogosphere for quite some time. I didn’t see the value in them at first – foolish. I recently turned 25 years young and very suddenly realized that I have five years until 30.
I’m not entirely freaked out by 30 – in fact, I keep hearing that the 30s are the best decade. Don’t get me wrong, I’m thoroughly enjoying my 20s, but I think my 30s will be really great, too.
So, here we have it. My 30 before 30 filled with plans, hopes, dreams, and aspirations. I’ve got five years and tons of things on my list to accomplish. Tons, as in, 30. Here goes nothing, y’all!
1. Visit Europe. More specifically, see Kefalonia!
2. Experience the Netherlands with my favorite travel buddy, T.
3. See clear water for the first time ever.
4. Visit the west coast (happening in less than a month!).
5. Live in New York City (for at least one year).
6. Run a 5k for the first time!
7. Lean to ski.
8. Get to my goal weight.
9. Maintain a consistent exercise plan (luckily, I’m well on my way to achieving this goal!).
10. Eat better (like, way more vegetables than I’m consuming currently).
11. Work for myself. Doing what, you ask? I’m not sure, but I know it’s something I need to try out.
12. Work in New York City (aka Warby Parker – I guess this goes hand in hand with living in NYC).
13. Blog more! Seriously. I love it so much, but my demanding schedule keeps me away from blogging as much as I’d like.
14. Learn front-end web development.
15. Attend a General Assembly (GA) course. Perhaps to learn front-end web development!
16. Lose the excess – as in, minimize, minimize, minimize!
17. Create a solid capsule wardrobe à la The Everygirl.
18. Read 24 books in one year (doesn’t sound entirely ambitious, especially because I love reading so much, but I need to make more of an effort to get daily reading time in).
19. Go green. Get rid of my paper documents and get better at scanning them in and saving them on a hard drive instead.
20. Stop buying so many darn clothes! (see #16).
21. Make homemade ravioli.
22. Get a freakin’ Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer once and for all.
23. Nail down the ‘perfect’ green smoothie.
24. Learn to bake flan. And now I want flan, ugh.
25. Try out a cleanse. At least a 2-day cleanse.
26. Take the jump and get a Canon. Which model? Obviously the 5D Mark III. Was that even a real question?
27. Learn calligraphy!
28. Create a blog theme from scratch.
29. Collaborate with one of my favorite brands.
30. Learn to relax. Be okay with taking a step back and understanding when I need a break.
No matter what age you might be, what’s on your list?

Image if you ticked all 30 off? That would feel so good. I just turned 30 but didn’t work to a list, but starting early has its advantages!
Buckets & Spades
I really hope I do! I’ve got five years and so much to accomplish. I’m thinking from now on I want to create a list for each decade – not to necessarily plan everything out, but to keep some goals in mind 🙂

Oh boy! Those lists make me so anxious! But i totally see their point. You can TOTALLY achieve all of them. Go Gabi go!
Yay! Thank you! I’m so so excited to start crossing some of these off my list!

Great list! I love making these type of lists. They’re such a good way to get motivated. Huge good luck with everything 🙂
