5 easy ways to celebrate women in your life – now get to celebrating!
As you may know, International Women’s Day was last week, and because we should absolutely be celebrating women more than on just *one* day, I’m collaborating with Alice’s Table to bring you some fun and easy ways to celebrate women in your life.
1. Show them you care
This one is easier said than done, I know! But, showing your friend/family member that you care is a really fun way to celebrate them. Give them a call when you know they’ve had a tough day. Or, vice versa, call them when you know they just accomplished something amazing!
However you show that you care, just do it. Don’t feel like you have to wait until some major milestone. Do something kind just to do it – aren’t those the best gestures?
2. Support them
I want to say here that it’s important to support your friend/family member unconditionally, but I think it’s also important to know how to balance supporting your friend/family member and also keeping their well-being in mind.
Are they doing something that could potentially put them in danger? That’s when you might want to gently approach a conversation. But, it’s certainly a case-by-case basis.
Back to lighter topics! If your gal pal is pursuing her life-long dream of being a dancer, be there as much as you can! Check in after auditions, be there for her performances…you get it. A little goes a really long way here.
3. Celebrate their wins
Have a friend or family member who just accomplished something awesome? (I’m sure you do). Then, celebrate it! If they’re okay with a bit of being in the limelight, share a post on social media celebrating their win! I love when I see the gals in my life doing amazing things and I like to share their great news with the world. Okay, maybe not the whole word – but you know, my friends on social media.
Or, if they appreciate their privacy – send them a handwritten letter! It’s a small gesture, but one that goes a long way.
4. A surprise floral arrangement
If you thought I was going to write a piece with my gal pals at Alice’s Table and NOT mention flora, well – you’ve fooled yourself! Of course one of my favorite ways to celebrate women in my own life is to send a little surprise floral arrangement.
Is there anything happier than a bunch of blooms arriving on your doorstep unexpectedly? If I’m in the neighborhood, I really love stopping by my local grocer or florist to put together my own arrangement. YOU know your friend/family member best, so why not create your own arrangement for them if you have the chance?
If you’re planning on going with the latter, Alice’s Table has some fun tips on how to (and how not to!) arrange your flowers. Their blog is chock-full of helpful details for floral arranging, too! Check it out.
5. Be there
This one is so simple – anyone can do it. Just, be there. Be there as a friend, a support system, and/or whatever else you gal pal needs. Be there when she needs you, and perhaps even more importantly – know when she needs some ‘me time’.
It’s easy to get lost in the shuffle of work and life and everything else – so make an effort to simply be there.
