Caramel Hot Chocolate Bar

I. love. caramels.

It’s borderline ridiculous how much I love them….and more so, how quickly I can devour them.

So, on the loveliest Sunday stroll in the South End with one of my sweetest friends, you can only imagine my excitement when I stumbled upon Jason McCrea hosting a tasting outside of Olives and Grace.

We chatted for quite some time, and then we got to taste testing. Okay, sampling. There’s something different about Jason’s caramels, some are salty (on purpose – he boasts the most delicious Black Lava Sea Salt caramels), some are sweet (okay all of them), and some are even savory!

However, they’re not so sweet that they hurt your teeth. Or even stick to them.

Anyways, I immediately realized my need for caramels, I just wasn’t enjoying enough per diem.

Then, when the McCrea’s Candies team was kind enough to send me a sampler, I knew just what to do with them! Share with y’all, duh.

So here we have it,  two ways to use McCrea’s caramels this holiday season.

Hosting friends and/or family this holiday season? Grab a small pack of McCrea’s Candies (or even a single caramel) to place daintily on the pillows in your guest room.

What a sweet surprise, right? Literally. A sweet surprise.

Pardon my bad humor, I’m tired and two Downeast ciders in. Crazy Wednesday evening, right? (Unrelated, how fantastic is their winter blend?)

Caramel Hot Chocolate Bar

Having friends over for a cozy evening in? Grab a few caramels and set up a hot chocolate bar! As if you need convincing, am I right?

For my very own hot chocolate, I had mini marshmallows, a chocolate covered pretzel, and a few different caramels. Let your guests pick their favorite flavor and either enjoy it on the side of their hot chocolate or melted right into it.

What flavor would you pick? I’m all about the tapped maple and black lava sea salt. Can you say yum?
