This Cilantro Gin Gimlet is 100% inspired by a cilantro martini we enjoyed while visiting Whitehall in Camden, ME. In the interest of being completely honest with you, mine is nowhere near as delicious as the martini mixed up by Dennis at Pig and Poet. It’s good, but not like his. Perhaps I’ll have to tackle the martini next 😉
Regardless, the Cilantro Gin Gimlet is a tasty way to end the week. Truth be told, I’ve really been looking forward to this weekend. Not that we have anything extravagant planned, but rather a few small plans that will be entirely enjoyable – an evening out to dinner (mexican two nights in a row is a win in my book), a night in with a group of friends, then heading up for T’s 62 mile (!) bike ride. I’ll be enjoying an afternoon in Newburyport which I hear is a darling little seaside town while T. busts his behind biking for upwards of 4 hours. Eek. Have you been to Newburyport before? Any suggestions? I’m on the search for cute shops to visit and a café with a solid iced chai – blogging by the water is ideal, am I right?
What do you have planned for this weekend? If it’s relishing the sunny weather, I’d highly recommend this Cilantro Gin Gimlet. Well, any homemade cocktail at that. But, this particular one has been tickling my fancy. There’s something so fresh about cilantro – and different, when it’s in a cocktail. It’s like a garden in a glass!
It might sound more intimidating than it actually is – give it a try and see for yourself. It really is a 2-step recipe, aka my favorite kind of cocktail.

Love this idea for a cocktail! SO simple, but really unique at the same time. I can’t get enough of adding herbs to everything, so I’ll be adding this one to my list for the summer.
Thank you so much, Emily! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

I love the sound of this! Seriously yummy and refreshing on a summer day I bet! Thanks for sharing 🙂 Also I was wondering, how do you generate the little recipe card that you used in this post? I love that it has a printer friendly option!
Hi, Annie! Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. It definitely is a refreshing cocktail. And it’s a free plugin that I use on WordPress – it’s called ‘Recipe Card’ 🙂
