A fall spiced cinnamon simple syrup that’s exactly that…simple.
You may already know that I love making simple syrups at home. I mean, I really love it.
I make a ton. we’re talking 👇
Now, we can add this one to the ever-growing list. It’s delicious. This cinnamon simple syrup is what fall and winter dreams are made of. I loved using this one in my lattes (YUM) and in this spiced manhattan cocktail recipe. Does it get more quintessential fall than that? I think not.
So, it only makes sense that I share the full recipe here. Though, I do want you to keep in mind that this is entirely customizable! You can absolutely make it your own. So, don’t fret if you’re reading through this and realizing you don’t have some of the ingredients. It can be made to be uniquely yours. Grab whatever you have on hand!
One of the things I love about making *fancy* simple syrups is that it’s so darn easy. It can sound so extravagant to make your own syrups at home, though in reality it only takes about 10 minutes of actual work, then you just let them simmer and cool!
Ready to make your own delicious little batch of cinnamon simple syrup? Excellent. Let’s do it.
2 cinnamon sticks
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1 orange peel
5 whole black peppercorns
1/4 teaspoon
1. Combine all ingredients in a pot.
2. Heat over high heat and let it boil until the sugar dissolves.
3. Turn the heat to low and let simmer for 30 minutes.
4. Turn the heat off and let cool. Then transfer into a sealable glass container (removing the cinnamon sticks) and keep in the fridge for 1-2 weeks.
What other kinds of simple syrups are you enjoying lately? This fall spiced cinnamon simple syrup is definitely at the top of my list. Rosemary simple syrup comes in second!
