My decorated bar cart is ready for the holiday season 🎄 Please note: This post is sponsored by Wayfair. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I cannot get enough of the holiday season. I thrive in cold weather (hello native New Englander), I love Hallmark Christmas movies (so cozy and predictable!), and holiday décor makes my heart sing (I’m a live tree gal through and through).
And, this year I wanted to start a new little tradition with my husband – decking out our home even more than usual with a fun and festively decorated bar cart! The best thing is, we grabbed everything we needed from Wayfair. And, we already had everything else on hand!
My Decorated Bar Cart
This is like a faux DIY, it’s sourcing and styling, and then enjoying the fruits of your labor. No building or assembling or trips to get odds and ends required. Now, here’s how I decorated my own 👇
What we used
A simple, unfinished bar cart that we already had on hand
Vintage glassware (so fun and festive!)
Two strands of Fir Garland from Wayfair (one for the arch and one along the back)
Our favorite winter liquors, liqueurs, and accoutrements
Layers: Layer up! Find ways to add some height to your holiday decorations. I did this by layering a serving board on top, then placing some of my stacked glassware on top of a set of gold vintage coasters I found from my friend’s vintage pop-up shop.
The rule of thirds: The rule of thirds applies here, too! Things look better in threes. You can achieve this using three bottles, or three glasses, or three bottle brush trees like I did here.
Use what you already have: Repurpose what you already have, and then treat yourself to a few new pieces! I knew I wanted to work in some soft pink this year so that bottle brush tree was the perfect find. And, I was in need of some garland that would withstand being wrapped with lights and hung up around the bar cart. I utilized my vintage glassware, and even a set of glasses I already had on hand from Wayfair from last Christmas.
Garland is a must: Okay, okay, I’m not going to pressure you into using garland if that’s not your thing. Though, it was a must for me. There’s something about it that feels so festive with minimal effort!
Blend your holiday style: I find that it’s easy to get sucked into using just one style. For example, a white and bright Christmas or an eclectic and colorful holiday set-up. This year, I did whatever I wanted to without feeling like I needed to consult if it was an actual style or not. So for you, I say go for it! Grab whatever you’d like to create your own decorated bar cart. It’ll be perfect, because it’ll be yours.
I’d love to see photos of your own decked out bar cart! Share them on Instagram with #myholidaybarcart and tag me (@gabivalladares) so I can see our holiday creation!
