A dessert decorating party, because everyone deserves to treat themselves.

I know what you’re thinking, a dessert decorating party? Aren’t the holidays over yet?
Well, no, they certainly aren’t because then what would we do for the rest of the year?! Just spend 10 months waiting for the holiday season to return?
So, I’m here to tell you that I think any time of year is a good time for a dessert decorating party—especially spring. The blooms are…well…blooming, the sun is out, and everyone is slowly coming out of their winter hibernation.
Now, let me backtrack for a moment. If I’m hosting a spring brunch or dinner (or the like), it’s very rare that I’ll also make a homemade dessert. Usually, making a full meal is time consuming on its own—never mind also prepping a dessert in advance.
So, why make it harder on myself (or yourself!)? Instead, if I’m focusing on the meal, I’ll head immediately to the freezer section of my grocery store to pick out something delectable for dessert. This time, I went right for the Delizza Belgian Custard Cream Mini Eclairs. You can find Delizza’s desserts near you using their store locator.
First of all, are they the cutest little desserts you’ve ever seen or what?! Plus, I really love that they revamped their recipes recently to include real sugar in their desserts instead of corn syrup.
I love the idea of having friends over in spring for a little dessert decorating party. And, let me be the first to tell you why. It’s because it’s fun and it’s so EASY! No major fussing or prepping beforehand means I’m able to really enjoy my time with my friends. I’m not worrying about the food coming out perfectly or staying warm the whole time—or rather cold, in this case.
Instead, I prepped a few little fun toppings for decorating, picked up the ridiculously adorable Delizza Mini Eclairs, and let my guests go to town.
I grabbed a few different toppings like fresh berries, dried (edible!) rose petals, cooking lavender, and honey. To keep your toppings on top of the Mini Eclairs, I highly recommend using a swipe of frosting. Cream cheese frosting is my favorite of them all. I’m sure you understand why.
I’d suggest using small bowls for holding all the toppings to make clean-up as easy as pie. All we did was put the leftover toppings back in their containers (or new ones) and threw all the bowls and plates in the dishwasher. Honestly, this has to be the easiest party to throw and it was just so much fun!
Have you thrown your own dessert decorating party? I’m seeing a mini cake decorating party in my future.
Happy dessert-ing!
