This fall weekend getaway was exactly what I needed. It had been a while since T. and I were able to plan a little trip, so when the fall season came around (aka my favorite), I knew we had to take full advantage. In fact, T. hadn’t spent a fall in the Northeast in over 2 years! Of course, we loved Atlanta, but there’s simply nothing like fall in New England. The gorgeous leaves in shades of red, orange, and yellow, the crisp breeze, the CIDER DOUGHNUTS – it’s like we’re living in a fairytale.
Naturally, we jumped at the chance to treat ourselves to a little fall weekend getaway, and when the perfect place to stay popped up, we invited four friends to join us for the weekend! We trekked up to North Conway, New Hampshire last Friday evening – and let me tell you, that drive is everything. I love road trips in general, but this one was mighty special. I think I made myself dizzy spinning my head around to see all the gorgeous trees – the red ones, especially.
We spent the weekend relaxing, driving through the mountains, exploring the woods, perusing the small shops in North Conway, and even checking out a local craft fair! Let me tell you, the jams you’ll find at a craft fair are the best yet. Oh right, and there were alpacas there! What a fabulously weird little weekend we had.
If you have the chance to get up to the North Conway, NH trip for your own fall weekend getaway, I highly recommend it. It’s the perfect quaint, slow-paced town with the most stunning mountain views ever.
And now it’s your turn! Where are you itching to go for a little autumn trip? Would a small town city guide to North Conway, NH be helpful? Let me know! Perhaps one will show up here 🙂

It felt like I was there again reading this, glad I could be there with you for your first time. The red trees! Can’t wait for another trip with you.
I’m glad you were there, too! Already awaiting our next trip 🙂
so pretty! I’ve never been to NH, seems like a gorgeous state.
Thanks, lady! It is absolutely gorgeous – I’m already hoping to go back and visit again soon!
