Happy holidays! Merry Christmas Eve! I can’t believe it’s here. And usually I’m saying that because it felt like it took forever for Christmas Eve to arrive. This year, it’s because time is flying by.
Typical adult cliché, right? But really, ending our LDR, moving into a new home, unpacking, work, etc. have kept us running around like busy bees.
Busy, happy bees, mind you.
Despite the holiday craze, we found some time to slow down this weekend and it was so perfect.
We picked up a few last-minute Christmas gifts, cheese board accoutrements, and visited Maggie’s most magical Eat Boutique Holiday Market. Walking into her pop-up was akin to walking into a dream.
It was decorated minimally, aka my favorite, and full to the brim with the best foodie gifts (for others and yourself/myself).
We had to restrain ourselves, because it was way. too. easy. to pick up everything and walk right out with it (after paying, obviously).
However, we left triumphantly.
We picked up a few items to gift and even a few for our own – hello, chocolate covered salted caramels……and peach pepper jam…..and sriracha.
It was the best way to spend a Saturday, for sure. And though the holiday market ended last weekend, you can still follow Maggie on Eat Boutique and grab her cookbook, Food Gift Love.
Which brings me to the question – why have I not picked up her book yet? It’s brilliant! 100 recipes to make, wrap, and share. What more could you ask for? Now, not only do you get the recipes, you also find out how to wrap it up nicely and gift it. Or…keep it for yourself to open later. Whatever floats yo’ boat.
Now that I’ve gone on and on about Maggie and Eat Boutique, it’s time to chat gifting locally. I’ve realized this year more than ever how wonderful it is to support local makers, shops, and curators.
Many of our gifts this year come from a maker in/around Boston or from a local shop. #shoplocal, y’all. And even though Christmas is tomorrow, there’s plenty of reasons to gift post-holiday season, I’ll even give you a couple ideas:
And here are a few of our Boston favorites:
Where do you like to shop local?

We can gift locally all year around, for sure. I’d also love to make it to Boston some day soon.

Oh, you must! I’m hoping to visit…well…all of the UK! I’ve sadly never been. Hope you’re doing okay over there with all the flooding. So sad to hear about the storms. Sending well wishes!
