Throwing a brunch can be intimidating. You’ve got to create the menu, select a cocktail (or more than one if it’s a boozy brunch – aka my favorite kind), and ensure that everyone has enough food, sips, etc. And you’re ‘supposed’ to do this all while enjoying the brunch yourself! It sounds like quite the challenge if you ask me. But, with summer shindigs and outdoor soirées on my mind, it’s high time for a(n easy!) glamorous summer brunch, don’t you think?
To help you throw the most glamorous summer brunch yet – and ensure that you get to enjoy it as well, here are three simple tips to ease your stress.

1. Create a simple, make-ahead menu. First, you always want to test out your recipes before the big day. This way, you’ll already know what you’re doing and you’ll potentially be able to avoid any unexpected issues. To make things even easier on brunch day, find or create recipes that can be made in advance. For example, I’ve been loving this Cantaloupe and Mozzarella Salad by Foodie Crush. If you want to try this salad as a menu item for your bunch, prep it in advance! Scoop out the cantaloupe; chop up the mint, basil, and prosciutto; and whip up the dressing the day before. All you’ll have to do is assemble it day-of!

2. Incorporate fresh flowers without the high price tag. If you want to incorporate fresh flowers in your tablescape, don’t be deterred by thinking you have to spend a fortune for large summer bouquets. Instead, do it yourself! I’m not saying you have to spend hours creating your own bouquets, but instead, simplify it. Grab some of your empty jars and small glass bottles from around your house and add a flower or two to each. Scatter them around your table and voilà, a fresh flower tablescape!

3. Create that ‘wow’ factor with just one thing. Don’t force yourself to go overboard. You don’t need custom cupcakes, a homemade 5-tier cake, and an expansive bar menu. Instead, find one menu item, cocktail, or decoration that will really wow your guests. If you’re inviting friends from different friend groups (who might not know each other), might I suggest a fun DIY backdrop? Help them break the ice by creating your own photo booth and letting your guests mix and mingle with an instax camera in hand. You don’t need to create one as expansive as this balloon beauty by Oh Happy Day, but isn’t it so much fun?!
Now that you’re equipped and ready to throw a totally glamorous summer brunch, what will be your ‘wow’ factor? If not a DIY backdrop, perhaps a signature cocktail?
