How I’m making my health a priority in my 30s

I can barely believe it as I write this, but as of a few weeks ago, I’m 30! And, though I’ve already been working towards living a healthier lifestyle, I want to focus on truly making my health a priority in my 30s. So I’m partnering up with Renew Life to set three health goals for myself. One of which includes their new-to-me product, their Women’s Care 25B Probiotic, which I’ll be adding to my health regimen because it supports the 40 trillion resident bacteria in our gut, which impacts our everyday health, especially our digestive health.
Let’s break those down.
I’m embarrassed to say that I haven’t been taking any vitamins or probiotics. And, now that I’m 30, it’s time. It’s probably been time for a while, but there’s nothing I can do about that but make that change moving forward.
And, I’m starting with Renew Life’s Women’s Care 25B Probiotic, a probiotic made for women that also provides immune health support. If you’re unfamiliar with probiotics (which is totally okay, they’re still new to me, too!), they’re live microorganisms that you can consume to help support your microbiome and overall digestive and immune health. You might be thinking about how your gut is related to your immune system. Well, did you know that 70% of your immune system is located right in your gut?
It’s a win-win. If you’re looking to incorporate more supplements into your daily routine, I highly recommend checking out which probiotics might be the best fit for you. I love that this one by Renew Life is created specifically for women. That, plus its many immune and digestive health benefits, sold me right away.
You might be asking, “Isn’t that the same as your health a priority?”
Somewhat! For this particular goal, I’ll be putting my wellness first – meaning it’s of utmost importance. If I’m not operating at my full capacity if I’m worn down, exhausted, stressed, and tired. So, my wellness comes first. When I start to feel something imposing on that, I need to be more self-aware and take a step back. This will help me assess how I can prevent it from impeding my wellness and overall health goals.
Being a small business owner is tough work! It’s freeing and rewarding, yet it can also be challenging. If you’re a fellow small business owner, you know the feeling. I wear nearly every hat for my business meaning stress creeps in more often than I’d like.
And, I know I need to make a change. The stress is starting to cause other health issues, which was a major wake-up call for shifting how I’m managing my stress. My initial plans are to meditate more throughout the day, be okay with plans changing if they need to, and planning out my week so that I can work the hours I want to be working and still get everything I need to do.
Now it’s your turn. I’d love to hear how you’re making your health a priority, too. Do you have a daily regimen that you stick to? How do you make health a priority? Feel free to share in the comments here or share on Instagram and tag me, @gabivalladares!
