Sweeten up your day with this herbal and easy to make Hibiscus Gin Gimlet.
This Friday is a sweet one, and not just because it’s Friday. In fact, I’ve got a new favorite to share with you – the Hibiscus Gin Gimlet. It’s got that herbal vibe with some sweet lime on the side, and of course, is topped with edible flowers.
I’m actually partnering up with Nautical Gin on this one and am participating in their fun blogger competition! If you’re not familiar with Nautical Gin, they’ve created a gin that’s jam-packed with delicious, exotic botanicals with a hint of sea salt (nautical….sea salt…you get it). It’s a fantastic gin, and I loved it even more in this colorful, herbal Hibiscus Gin Gimlet recipe.
Oh, right! Back to the competition. Nautical Gin has rounded up a handful of bloggers around the Northeast to create their own take on the Gin Gimlet. We’re all creating our own custom recipes, and Nautical Gin will be sharing photos of each recipe on their social channels. Want to know the best part? YOU get to vote for your favorite! So, stay tuned on their Instagram to vote for your top picks and see who is crowned the winner. Here’s hoping they call it the
Ready to make your own herbal version of the classic Gin Gimlet? I think you are. This one’s a pretty simple one, so grab your ingredients, stir it on up, and treat yo’self on this fine Friday!
1 part gin
1 part elderflower liqueur
1 part sweetened lime juice
2 parts iced hibiscus tea
Edible flowers for garnish (we used primrose)
1. Combine your gin, elderflower liqueur, sweetened lime juice, and hibiscus tea in a mixing glass or beaker.
2. Add ice and stir until the mixture is chilled.
3. Strain into your glass and garnish with edible flowers.
4. Spritz a bit of fresh lime juice on top and enjoy!
*We purchased your run of the mill hibiscus tea bags and steeped them with double the tea bags to make our own concentrate. However, you can certainly pick up one of the pre-made hibiscus tea concentrates to make it even easier!
How are you kicking off the weekend? I’m heading up to Newburyport this afternoon with my friends over at Lark Hotels and some fellow Boston-based gals. Cannot wait for a weekend by the sea.
ps. Remember to head on over to Nautical Gin on Instagram and ‘like’ your favorite gin gimlet recipes! 😉
