An easy slow cooker homemade cranberry sauce recipe – enjoy!
It wasn’t until I was in high school (or maybe even later) that I realized I love cranberry sauce.
And I’m talking about that canned cranberry sauce. You know the one.
The cranberry sauce that still LOOKS like it’s in a can even when it’s not? Like, it somehow magically holds the same shape AND the lines from the can look as though they’re forever engrained in the cylinder shaped jelly.
Then I discovered homemade cranberry sauce. And, oh boy, it was like a whole new world.
It was so tart, and also sweet, and just plain delicious. And, it didn’t have that distinct jelly texture. Which, is strange considering I typically love jelly and its weird gelatinous texture. But this cranberry sauce was something special for sure.
So, a few months ago I decided to give it a try myself. I whipped up a HUGE batch of this homemade cranberry sauce for Thanksgiving with our awesome friends and neighbors, and it was a total hit!
Even the moms asked for the recipe – now that’s what I call successful. I almost felt like I was cheating though, because it was so very easy to make. I wasn’t even home for it! Well – let me clarify. I threw everything into the slow cooker, headed out to volunteer for the Atlanta Thanksgiving Half Marathon, and when I came back it was done!
Or rather, almost done. I spent about one minute mashing up the cranberries in the slow cooker and then it was really done. Talk about easiest sauce ever.
