It’s International Women’s Day and I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate the occasion (well, at least here on by gabriella), than to tell you about a community near and dear to my heart – The Lady Project.
The Lady Project was started (thank goodness) by two unbelievably inspiring women in Providence, Rhode Island. It’s a network of incredibly talented, strong, and intelligent women that has taught me so so much. I’ve been with the Boston chapter – BOS Lady Project – as Creative Manager since its inception in 2013 (we technically launched in 2014, but ideas were brewing before then!) and have had the unique opportunity to see a community develop right before my eyes.
I’ve met incredible women from Boston and beyond in the past two years. We don’t just host events in Boston, we connect with partners around the city who support our mission and we have fun doing it! Our team is entirely made up of volunteers, myself included, and jeeze, it’s a blast! Our team is full of total superstars and I couldn’t imagine not working with them each and every day.
The Lady Project serves as an affordable, accessible network chock full of amazing women all over the country. Seriously, Boston was the third chapter two years ago and now that list has more than tripled. It’s amazing! Maybe there’s even a chapter in your city 😉
Want to join the International Women’s Day conversation? Use #IWD2016, on social! You can also check out events in your area. Or if you want to learn more about The Lady Project, get in touch! Our new website will be launching soon, but in the mean time you can connect with us on Twitter. And if you want to learn more about our annual Lady Project Summit, now’s the time to do it! There are only 30 tickets left; I’ll be there meeting inspiring women all weekend and I simply can’t wait.
ps. This photo is of Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream from my Atlanta city guide. Yet another brand created and built by an inspiring woman. Learn more about the Jeni behind Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream! And now I really want Jeni’s and to be back in Atlanta. Surprise.
What woman inspires you? My mom is on the short list, of course. (Hi, mom!).
