Doughnuts and cocktails. And Fridays. If life could always be filled with Fridays, doughnuts, and tasty (3-ingredient) cocktails, it’d be great. Right? Or is that just me?
Well, either way, today your Friday is filled with doughnuts (of the apple cider variety) and cocktails – so…win! Remember a few weeks ago when I whipped up this Elderflower Whisky Cordial? It was also when I introduced the Jack Rudy Cocktail Co., which boasts some fabulous items that you should be stocking your bar cart with.
This drink here is the Jack Rose cocktail, as created by the Jack Rudy Cocktail Co. – I’m simply the (self-elected) messenger to tell you how delicious it is. Especially for fall. I’ve been super into apple brandy lately – so much so that it also inspired this perfect-for-the-chilly-weather Maple Bourbon Apple Cider Breakfast Cocktail.
And if it’s a tasty treat you’re looking for, I am all about trying as many apple cider doughnuts in fall as humanly possible. These ones are from a local farm – the Belkin Family Lookout Farm, which also churns out multiple varieties of hard cider (and has a taproom!). All I can say is, shop local y’all! Especially when it comes to apple cider doughnuts. If you’ve got a farm around you that makes them – go! Take advantage while it’s apple cider doughnut season.
Speaking of which, can we make every season apple cider doughnut season?
3 ounces Applejack (apple brandy)
1 ounce grenadine ( Jack Rudy!)
1 ounce lime juice
1. Combine Applejack, grenadine, and lime juice in a shaker.
2. Shake for 10 seconds
3. Double strain in a cocktail glass
Makes 2 cocktails
A tasty 3-ingredient cocktail is definitely an automatic favorite around here. Do you have any favorite 2- or 3-ingredient cocktails? Do share! I’m always looking for new sips.
ps. This post is not sponsored by the Jack Rudy Cocktail Co., I’m just seriously digging’ their products
