Life edit no. 01
It’s a big week, y’all. Well really, it’s been a big month.
We’re prepping for a month-long trip to Europe and getting ready for the big move to Atlanta this summer.
We fly out of Boston in 11 days and I can barely believe it.
In the midst of the crazy travel plans and somehow starting to pack, it also dawned on me that this week is such a big one beyond the traveling and moving.
This Tuesday (as in, tomorrow!) is my last full day in the office. I’ll still be working with the team, but in a different capacity. I’ll be freelancing for a bit, and have a few other projects in the works. I’ll be working remotely for the first time in my career and to say I’m excited simply wouldn’t suffice.
I know me. I know when and where I’m most productive. I get my best work done in the early morning hours, in a bustling café, co-working space, or simply at a table outdoors. I know that I’m not as creative as I can be while sitting in a blank office. I need people buzzing around me, natural light, and fresh air.
It’ll be a big lifestyle change, I’m aware. I’ll miss being able to swing by to check in with my colleagues (read: friends), and I’ll miss the occasional coffee walks with the team. But, I’m so ready to be able to work from anywhere. I’m ecstatic to have the opportunity and privilege to choose where I want to work from every day. I know it’ll be tough. I’ll be out there on my own, though I’m lucky enough to have the best community cheering me on.
The next two weeks will be an absolute whirlwind, and I cannot wait to dive in and explore the unknown.
If you’re curious about how this is all happening, I’ll be sharing more about how I’m making it all work soon on the next Life Edit!
