Feelin’ lucky? How about treating yourself to a festive Lucky Charms Milkshake?
Happy almost St. Patrick’s Day, y’all! If you couldn’t tell, I’m feelin’ real lucky lately and had to capitalize on it with a seriously festive Lucky Charms milkshake.
Let me start by telling you how much I LOVE Lucky Charms. I bought a box for the milkshake and realized it’s been years since I bought Lucky Charms. They were a ‘treat’ when I was younger and I savored it. I would eat all the cereal pieces first, then take a few heaping bites of marshmallows. What a dream. And no, this post isn’t sponsored, I just love those little marshmallows so darn much.
This is, by far, the most festive milkshake I’ve ever made and I’m super into it. I’m not even in love with St. Patrick’s Day, but living in Boston means that St. Patrick’s Day is e v e r y w h e r e. And I’ve come to really enjoy the seriously crazy weekend here. Even just being outside with all the green is fun – people watching is at its PRIME on that festive spring weekend. Actually, I’ll be doing something really fun on social during St. Patrick’s Day weekend – stay tuned! It’ll be worth it.
8 scoops of mint chocolate chip ice cream
1/4 cup of milk
Pinch of vanilla extract
Optional: 3 oz vanilla vodka
*The consistency may vary based upon the ice cream you use. Add more ice cream or more milk to get it to your preferred consistency.
Toppings
1 cup of Lucky Charms marshmallows
1 cup of mini colored marshmallows
3 large marshmallows
1/2 cup funfetti frosting
3 tablespoons sprinkles
Whipped cream
1. Frost the top of your milkshake glasses with the funfetti frosting and stick the Lucky Charms marshmallows to it. Set aside.
2. Add ice cream, milk, and vanilla to your blender. Blend until smooth.
3. Pour your milkshake into the glasses, keeping a little room at the top.
4. Top off your milkshake with whipped cream.
5. Add additional Lucky Charms marshmallows, mini marshmallows, and sprinkles.
6. Place a few mini marshmallows and your large marshmallows on a skewer and add as a final touch.
*Makes 3 milkshakes
First of all, I LOVE mint chocolate chip ice cream. However, the milk waters the color down a bit, so feel free to add a dash of green food coloring. I added a little of the ‘pastel’ green food coloring I have to make it really stand out, without looking totally unnatural. Oh, and if you want to whip these up in a breeze, order the vanilla vodka from Drizly! Alcohol delivery to your door, no joke.
Are you doing anything special for St. Patrick’s Day? I’m currently on the search for a fun green top to wear. Any leads? Perhaps something with adorable bell sleeves? Lookin’ at you, J.Crew! 😉
