Sending much love from us to you.
I love entertaining and I love writing entertaining posts.
In previous years, I’ve shared a Winter Citrus Bourbon cocktail recipe perfect for any Valentine’s Day celebration, how to celebrate self-love, Valentine’s Day wallpaper downloads, a fun feature on hosting a Valentine’s Day gift swap, and more.
But today, I want to keep it simple. In fact, to let you in on a little secret, I’ve never been the biggest fan of Valentine’s Day.
GASP! I know. I’m even in a relationship. But, I still think it’s a bit of a silly holiday no matter what your ‘status’ is.
Now, if we’re throwing it back to elementary school when Valentine’s Day meant handing out little retro valentine’s cards to your classmates – that’s a different story. I LOVED that kind of Valentine’s Day! Everything was festive and it was all about love, not necessarily loving a specific someone.
How are you celebrating love today? Tim and I are up to our typical Valentine’s Day antics. Curious? It’s pizza. Isn’t the answer always pizza?
Instead of venturing out for dinner or drinks, we’re getting into our coziest clothes and curling up at home with the real star of the day – the winter Olympics. We even make our very favorite pizza. We load it up wth barbecue chicken, pineapple, gouda cheese, mozzarella, and red onion. So really, Valentine’s Day for us is simply an excuse to be lazy and also stuff ourselves with delicious, homemade pizza.
Actually, semi-homemade. If you think we’re making a crust from scratch you’re fooling yourself. I’ve done it before, but not tonight. No thank you! Trader Joe’s is always coming in clutch with their tasty pre-made pizza crusts. Oh, you haven’t tried them? You should.
And yes – pineapple SO does belong on pizza.
