A Strawberry Gimlet recipe with homemade rosemary peppercorn simple syrup.
AND! Some exciting news! Please note, this post is sponsored by SideChef.
All thoughts and opinions are my own.
You may have had an original Gimlet recipe – it’s delicious! It needs no tweaking.
But, here I am, doing it anyway. I love a good classic cocktail. And, I love when they inspire fun new takes on their original recipes.
The original Gimlet is simple –
Easy – 3 ingredients! And, you probably already have a lime laying around. And, most likely, a bit of granulated sugar to turn into simple syrup on the stove.
However, I wanted to create a little riff on the Gimlet for winter. Enter fresh rosemary and peppercorns!
There’s something about rosemary that gets me every time. It smells so darn fresh. It grows around Atlanta like a weed, so true story – I forage mine! Not from people’s homes, but from public parks, etc. It may sound silly, but it stays fresher SO much longer! And don’t worry, I’m not foraging full bushes of rosemary, just a few sprigs here and there.
This little winter cocktail is perfect for fans of gin and anyone who enjoys sipping on a fruity but not overly sweet cocktail. I like it because it all tastes so fresh, and that might be because strawberries are in season so much longer here in the south (it stays hot for like…ever). If you’re not finding great strawberries at the grocery story, swap it for another fruit! I bet blood orange would be divine in this. Try it out and let me know what you think!
Now, before we jump to the cocktail recipe, let’s get to that exciting news!
Now, it’ll be even easier to shop and make my recipes! Neat, right?
