Delicious dinner + the best people = the most wonderful night, right? Hold up. Let’s make it even easier. I partnered up with the team over at DoorDash to host literally the easiest dinner party.
Here’s how it worked. I invited over three friends for a cozy little girls’ night in. Sounds magical, right? It was. I just moved into my new apartment (!! photos to come) so I didn’t have any furniture because it’s coming up when T. moves in. So, with plentiful space, we lit every candle I have, plugged in the twinkly holiday lights, and had an indoor fall picnic!
Basically, it was a dream of a Monday evening. Wine, hot indian food, friends, and good conversation. You just can’t beat it.
We ordered indian from Kashmir, an adorable restaurant on Newbury St. here in Boston Monday morning and voilà, we had a dinner party!
If you’re planning on hosting one of your own (which you should), here’s a pro tip. Figure out the restaurant in advance and give DoorDash’s group ordering function a try.
Here’s how it works
- Select your restaurant and choose to place a group order.
- You’ll get a custom link which you can send out however you’d like, and everyone attending can add their dinner, apps, etc. to the cart.
- Once everyone picks out their nosh, you can check out and place the order.
- Select a time for delivery – you’ll get a 30 minute window – and you’re all set!
Our order came on the earlier side of our window, which was perfect. And the food was still hot even after being delivered from downtown! Win.
Sure, I may be cheating the typical “dinner party” here, but we had a blast and the food was delicious! I’m already excited for date nights in with T. It sounds silly, but it was perfect! I love a good night out at a fancy restaurant, but having the food delivered right to my door was brilliant! Everyone was so comfy and relaxed, it was perfect. Enjoy if you try it out!
