With my move happening in less than one month now (eek!), I’m feverishly looking through DIYs to make our new apartment exactly what we want. T. and I are so so excited to be living together soon, but are trying to find ways to blend our tastes, furniture, and decor.
With my favorite furniture already picked out – okay, my favorite furniture picked out – we need to find more affordable options and only splurge if it’s something we both love and both think is worth the price tag.
To combat high spending, we’re looking into DIYs. All the DIYs. We’re using a google doc. to keep everything organized – from furniture and decor to little to do items like forwarding our mail, etc., but I’ve found myself wanting to add more DIY projects than anything else.
I’ve found some real goodies the past few weeks, too! I couldn’t not share, right? Here’s a quick roundup of a few of my top picks.
This one is no. 1 on my list, and with good reason! Just look at these most adorable plant stands by the talented Claire Zinnecker. These seem totally doable. I’ve been realizing the lack of greens and flora in my current apartment and can’t wait to fix that soon – with my own homemade plant stands!
We’re all about finding new light fixtures for our new apartment. In fact, T. has already whipped up his very own standing lamp made out of pipes, which means he’ll be super helpful with making more lamps for our new apartment, right? We haven’t decided what we’ll be making yet (actually, I don’t think we’ve even fully discussed it), but I’m diggin’ this bedside lamp.
Is this the most beautiful home DIY you’ve seen yet or what? I want to buy a few area rugs, but they’re quite expensive. Well, at least the ones I really want. Obviously. I spotted this DIY on A Beautiful Mess and am thinking it’s worth the time and effort. Have you ever made a woven rug? What do you think?
Continuing with our mild copper pipe obsession, I found a few side tables that I’d like to try out for the living room, entryway, or as bedside tables. Can’t decide just yet, but I know I want to make one. How adorable is this table for inspiration?
There are approximately 400 new kitchen items I want, with fabric napkins being pretty high up on that absurd list. So, instead of buying all of my new fabric napkins, I thought, why not try out these adorable DIY stamped napkins by Brittni?
What’s on your DIY list these days? Any suggestions for dressing up a new apartment?

Thanks, lady! I haven’t been crafting/DIY-ing much at all lately, but I’m feeling so inspired by these projects! Can you tell I’m currently obsessing over copper? I was so excited when I saw that plant stand DIY.
