Boston is my home, but I also love so many other cities. One of those is Washington D.C. Have you been? It’s a pretty spectacular place. I’ve been a bunch of times, and actually this will be my third time there in less than two years – but I’m still so excited to visit!
I’m road tripping down with a bunch of my favorite people in a few weeks and simply can’t wait for a weekend away. It’s going to be exactly what I need. Everyone deserves a little break sometimes, right? Speaking of which, you do too! What’s next on your travel list?
While I’ve been to D.C. a few times already, I’m always looking for recommendations and favorite spots from friends and fellow bloggers, alike. Do you have any must-see spots? Do share!
Now, to celebrate my upcoming trip, here are a few of my favorite D.C.-based bloggers! I’ll surely be sifting through their blogs for trip inspiration 🙂
Natalie Catalina. This is, by far, my favorite D.C.-based blog. Natalie’s taste is impeccable, which is more than obvious after spending just a few moments on her blog. And this week she’s celebrating her blog’s third birthday! Yay! She’s also hosting a giveaway to celebrate – go enter!
Poor Little It Girl. How darn cute is Cathy? I’ve just recently started following her blog and am adoring it. She not only shares outfit posts, she also has some fantastic tips to share – like why you need a contract with your blog photographer (and how to create one!).
Colorindex. Monling’s blog is exactly what it sounds like. It’s bright, colorful, and so much fun. When I’m in need of some inspiration, Colorindex is one of my favorite spots to visit. Take a peek, you won’t regret it.
It’s Julien. Another new-to-me-blog and it’s fantastic. Julien’s style is seriously enviable, but better yet, her blog caters to women looking for budget-friendly finds. #welcometomylife
Any favorite Washington D.C. blogs you’d suggest? I’m always looking for new reads!
ps. the photos here are from my most recent trip to D.C. Baked & Wired in Georgetown is a dream. Seriously. Last time we were there we picked up a rosemary goat cheese buttermilk biscuit. I’m obsessed. I need another one!

go to the bar at the top of the w hotel! great views, right by the white house! i also like mr. smith’s, a piano bar in georgetown, and pretty much all of georgetown (i spent a summer living/interning there). IT’S ALL SO FUN!
Thanks, Alex! I love that bar at the W – that’s the hotel I usually stay in, actually! But we’re switching it up this time and staying in Dupont. However, we’re getting another west wing tour so we might have to stop by the W on the way out 😉
And YES! I love piano bars! Adding Mr. Smith’s to the list.
