It’s no secret that there’s been plentiful posts around these parts about DIYs and home decor inspiration. It’s really because I’m so unreasonably exciting to be moving into a new home with my favorite person. Saying goodbye to long distance and hello to more days spent together is the most wonderful thing.
Not to diss the LDR. We made the best of it and actually had a blast! The anticipation of landing in Atlanta, walking off the plane train (yes, that is a real thing), and anxiously scanning the crowd for my fella was worth it. I’d get butterflies and be a little nervous – it was a thrill! But, I’m ready to trade that in for more lazy Sundays, cuddling up with The League and Last Man on Earth (have you seen these shows? They’re way better than I thought they would be!), and weekend getaways – Burlington, VT is first on my list right now!
Now that you know why I’ve been sharing so much home decor inspiration, I wanted to share where I’ve been finding it lately.
The internet (aka Pinterest). Obviously. But also, books! I’ve been so inspired by these two totally awesome, downright kick ass women. Drumroll please……..
……
Brit Morin of Brit + Co. and Joy Cho of Oh Joy!
If you don’t know either of these ladies, stop reading. Go check out their blogs, then come back!
Let’s continue. I’ve been following Brit and Joy for a while now and am still so in awe of how inspirational they are. From the niftiest vertical succulent garden to creating a colorful kitchen, these ladies share home decor inspiration, DIY tips, and some serious life inspiration (a ton of other things too, of course).
And now they both have BOOKS! You heard me right. Now you can flip through pages and pages of the most beautiful, glittered, painted projects, cakes, so on and so forth. I find myself flipping through these books more often and actually having to make lists of my favorites. I’ve got them bookmarked and can’t wait to take a trip to grab all of the supplies!
Where are you finding your home decor inspiration these days?

Thanks for sharing the books with us! Pinterest nowadays seems to be my only source ha!
Of course! I was so delighted the second I opened both of them and knew I had to share. Pinterest is the first place I go! But, I’m going to keep these fun books in mind next time I’m looking for a project!

Oh girl, I remember the LDR days. They were definitely fun, and every visit was like a little vacation, but Sundays going back were always rough. The great thing about moving in together after an LDR is that you know how to make the most of your time together. And thanks for sharing these books! I’m old school and still love my magazines, but I’m also kind of an instagram addict, and I always find inspiration in hotels and restaurants.
They really can be so tough! Where were you both living? I always like learning from others who have gone through a similar experience.
Luckily, we’re at the tail end of it! I can’t wait to be moving in and you know….have some help for all of my DIY projects 😉

I’m shamelessly obsessed with Pinterest. I think that’s where I get 99% of any creative, decor, or style inspiration!
Ah! Pinterest is the best. I go there for inspiration for well….almost everything (if not everything). Such brilliant people over there at Pinterest HQ.
