So is everyone else as smitten with this time of year as I am? If only it could last for more than a few weeks! Up here in Boston, we’re treated to a delightful fall every year at the end of September/start of October. Just as you’re getting into the groove….BAM, it’s winter. It’s chillier than you’d like to accept, and the leaves are long gone. So, this year, I’m doing as many fall thing as possible – including sipping on this Maple Bourbon Apple Cider – or as I like to call it, the best fall breakfast cocktail yet. What’s a breakfast cocktail, you ask? Well, I wouldn’t necessarily say you’d want to drink this at 8 am, but I also wouldn’t judge you at all. Rather, it’s essentially your ideal fall (…or winter) breakfast in a mug. Except, it’s all liquid (minus the garnishes which are also breakfast themed). So, candied bacon, anyone?
We used this recipe for the candied bacon, but for some reason had a really tough time getting it to crisp up. We let it sit in the oven for at least 10 minutes longer than what the recipe calls for; it ended up working out because it did crisp up quite nicely after taking it out of the oven. So, I’d say take it out when it’s just about to where you want it – it should finish crisping after you take it out!

Oh my god, that looks amazing! I’m assuming there’s plenty of taste testing when you do these shoots?
