Now this is what my perfect snow day looks like.
I’ll come right out and say it. I still root for snow days all winter. Yes, I know you snow-haters and warm weather fanatics are cringing at the sound of that, but it’s true. I love the cold in some strange, inexplicable way. I love bundling up in layers upon layers to head out in the morning for my iced coffee. Yes, I’m on that team, too. Iced coffee year-round for me, please!
Snow days are still so magical. That might partially be because I live in a large apartment building and I don’t have to shovel, but that’s neither here nor there. I love snow days as much as I love iced chai, and you know that’s a whole darn lot. It feels like a bonus day – even when the snow day lands on a weekend. I have a reason to stay inside (less a lady coffee date and some time to head outside and play in the snow), and I don’t feel guilty.
It actually feels amazing. I wake up early thanks to the simple anticipation of snow and let myself relax for a bit. Then I hop right into being productive. Well, perhaps after a few episodes of The Office, which I’m re-watching for the third time and will never tire of. In fact, here’s my recipe for having the perfect snow day yet.
And, you know what? That bright white light is PERFECT for photographs! My camera is outdated and simply not up to par with others that I’ve got my eyes on, yet, it prevails in that dreamy snowy light. It’s like magic. Real, photographed magic.
Now that I’ve dished, what’s your favorite recipe for having the perfect snow day?

Love this Gabriella! I must admit, I’m a warm-weather-fiend myself, but your recipe for a snow day sounds so cozy! I’m also trying to step away from the screen and read more – it can be so tough sometimes!

Thanks so much, Kira! Most people really do love the sun & warmth of summer, but I’m a huge snow day fan. Just such a cozy way to spend the day! xo
I love the coziness of a snowy day and your steps for the perfect one! I agree, getting comfy and cozy is most important 🙂 I usually (sad to admit) don’t put away the screen, but love binge watching an old series..like Downton Abbey. Also love making chili on snow days and eating bowls through out the day.
Is it the best or what? And can you believe I still haven’t watched Downton Abbey?! I seriously need to get on that.
Also – so much yes to chili. I haven’t had it at all this winter and I definitely need to change that asap.
I am a warm weather, anti-snow person to my core, but these ideas/tips honestly make it sound more appealing. The next time we get a snowstorm (which in my dreams wouldn’t be again until next year ;)), I am referring back to this post!

Most people hate the winter, but I’m the black sheep of my family and friend groups that love it. There isn’t much more I love than a cozy snowy day 🙂
