A Spicy Holiday Highball to get you feeling festive.
As you may already know, the holidays are my jam.
I can’t get enough of them.
The terrible (yet fantastic) Hallmark movies, the holiday music, the SNOW – I love it all. Honestly, please give me all the festive vibes.
I look forward to this time of year….every year. I don’t like to rush through the days, weeks, and months. But, it’s different when it comes time for the holidays.
I couldn’t care less about Halloween so you can only imagine how hard it is to contain my excitement as the holidays near.
While it’s really tough to hide my enthusiasm for the holidays, I don’t have to hide my enthusiasm for funky, delicious cocktails. And, this one’s no exception.
This Spicy Holiday Highball is pretty unique….in that it’s a spicy holiday cocktail! Usually you see cranberry cocktails or perhaps those warming hot toddys, but this one’s all about the Ancho Reyes Liqueur which is a liqueur from heaven.
Okay not really, obviously, but it does taste like it could be. It’s made from ancho and poblano chiles, and it tastes divine.
It’s got a kick, so be sure to give your guests a friendly heads up to not gulp it down when they first give it a go.
Okay okay, are you over the buildup? Here’s how to make your own Spicy Holiday Highball at home!
Ancho Reyes Original Liqueur
Lime juice
Simple syrup
Club soda
Rosemary, for garnish
1. Add 2 parts Ancho Reyes Original (ancho chile liqueur! SO MUCH YUM), 1 part lime juice, 1 part simple syrup, and 4 parts club soda to a highball class.
2. Mix lightly with a bar spoon until combined.
3. Fill glass with ice and garnish with rosemary or thyme.
Have I convinced you to join me on the dark, spicy side yet? If I have – what do you think you’d like to pair with this festive cocktail?
