We’re all settled in! Just a few months after officially ending our long distance relationship and I already have a second round of apartment updates for you. It’s like we’ve been on overdrive these past few months; I can’t even think of a day where we only relaxed.
Even if we’re “relaxing” I’m blogging, working on some other project, or freelancing. And same for T! It’s been crazy! Maybe that’s why I was really crossing my fingers for lots of snow this year – an actual reason that we would have to stay home and find ways to relax. Like last year! Come on Boston, where’s that 100″ of snow again? (Sorry to all my friends here in Boston who are totally cursing me right now).
Despite running around like chickens with our heads cut off, we have been able to decorate a few spots with greens, prints (okay…print…because we currently only have one up), and other little oddities.
We’re also working on a gallery wall. And by working, I mean thinking about it. I really want white, wood, and gold frames – any suggestions on where to get these on the cheap? I love Framebridge, but not entirely sure if we can foot the bill for all of those just yet.
We did recently check out a garden center, where we picked up these cute little succulents and cacti, but oh boy were those prices crazy! I really want two big plants – one for our living room and one for our bedroom. But, they were over $100!
Say what! It’s nature that I’m bringing inside. Does anyone else think this is absurdly expensive or is it totally just me? If you do agree with me, I wouldn’t hate it if you shared some of your favorite plant/garden shops.
We also picked up this adorable copper basket from Rejuvenation during our last week in Atlanta and are working on clearing out the bottom of our coffee table so that we can display our favorite coffee table books in it.
(This might actually be news to T, so….sorry that you’re finding out about my plans here!)
We also found the perfect white rug from Rugs USA! It’s so soft I could sleep on it. Almost.
Luckily T. already had most of the furniture we needed, but it’s a lot of IKEA which I’m really hoping to get away from somewhat soon. I seriously have my eyes on this West Elm couch, and well…everything else from West Elm, too.
We also stopped by Waiting on Martha’s shop while in Atlanta (biggest mistake because it’s so beautiful and I wanted everything). I picked up a few gifts while we were there, but I also snagged this adorable antique brass and glass box (here’s the bigger size). How adorable is that?! I really need another one to round out my little collection.
Oh, and we hacked our IKEA Tarva dresser! That was probably the biggest step we’ve made in decorating.
It’s going slowly, but I’d rather take it slow then rush to put things up and realize we hate it. That makes sense, right? We did however pick up this bronze wall sconce from Urban Outfitters. Such a steal, I tell ya!
Overall, I’m getting really excited to continue decorating our first little home together and to share more apartment updates soon! Next step: A gallery wall!
Have any of you set one up? Any tips are welcome. Seriously 🙂

Looking good! Love all the greens. 🙂 We really love Ricky’s Flower Mart in Somerville – not sure how their prices compare to others but Ricky is a cool and super helpful guy, and it’s so fun to explore.
We’re going to order this set of frames (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0083GP8IM?colid=18MU63O1EX2D3&coliid=I28D4PBPAOCRXE&psc=1&ref_=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl) from Amazon to start our gallery wall with some wedding pics!
Thank you! We’ll have to check out Ricky’s. The prices at Mahoney’s were astronomical for taller plants. And those are such nice frames! I can’t wait to start working on our wall 🙂

Great updates! I would definitely say IKEA is the way to go for both cheap frames and a larger houseplant! Also – your rug looks SO SOFT!
Thanks, Kevin! And thanks for the suggestions – we’ll plan another trip soon. And the rug is amazing! Rugs USA was awesome.
